Civil War Recreation Comes To Barnegat

The 2nd New Jersey Brigade will set up a camp in Barnegat on November 2 and 3 to showcase a little of what life was like in the Civil War.

BARNEGAT TOWNSHIP, NJ - Residents will soon get to see what life was like at Civil War encampment. The 2nd New Jersey Brigade, along with the Barnegat Historical Society, will be recreating a Civil War camp from November 2 to 3 at 651 and 653 East Bay Avenue, according to the 2nd New Jersey Brigade.

The event will not be a Civil War reenactment, but rather a recreation of what the camp looked like and how operations went during the Civil War. The event will feature a host of different individuals who would be at a camp giving informational talks about what would go on, including cavalry, field medics and civilians.

In addition, the event will be recreating a field hospital to historic accuracy, according to The Barnegat Leader.
