Controlled Burns Continue In Little Egg Harbor

LITTLE EGG HARBOR, NJ — Little Egg Harbor residents might smell smoke throughout Wednesday from a controlled burning.

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service will set controlled burns near Freedom Fields and Route 539 on Wednesday.

Little Egg Harbor police said residents should expect to see smoky conditions in surrounding areas.

Controlled burning is conducted during cooler months. It reduces fuel buildup and decreases the likelihood of more serious fires.
