Harvey Cedars Beach Patrol Establishes After Hours Unit For More Protection

The after hours unit starts when lifeguard staff leaves at the end of the day.

The summer of 2017 has already proven to be a dangerous one.

A Belmar girl died and her cousin is on life support after they were trapped in a rip current on Thursday. Several swimmers in South Jersey are missing. All of the sad incidents had one common, deadly factor - they all swam on unguarded beaches.

Although most municipal beach patrols will be up and running now that schools are out for the summer, members of the Harvey Cedars Beach Patrol aren't taking any chances.
