Long Beach Island Bar Owners Charged With Lying To Police: Report

Toby Sweeney and Michael Sweeney, co-owners of Terrace Tavern, were charged with lying to the police after a bouncer beat a customer.

LONG BEACH, NJ - The owners of Terrace Tavern, a bar on Long Beach, are facing charges of hindering an investigation after lying to the police, according to an article from NJ.com.

Toby Sweeney and Michael Sweeney were released with a court summons on Wednesday evening after lying to the police concerning an incident where the Terrace Tavern bouncer, Kenneth Widmer, beat up a customer last month, according to NJ.com. The victim suffered from a serious head injury and required first aid in the bar after the incident.

Widmer was arrested last week and charged with aggravated assault, unsworn falsification and two counts of criminal mischief.
