No One Injured In Early Morning Stafford Blaze

Neighbors were briefly evacuated, then allowed back home.

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ - No one was injured in an early morning structural fire at a home on Barracuda Road in the Ocean Acres section of Stafford Township, Lt. James R. Vaughn said.

Stafford Township police, the Stafford Township Fire Department, and the Stafford Township First Aid Squad responded to the home at 2:45 a.m. on April 23.

They found the fire located in an upstairs laundry room. The homeowners tried to extinguish the fire but were unsuccessful. Neighbors from nearby homes were evacuated for safety reasons, but were allowed to return to their homes later, Vaughn said.

The fire was extinguished by the Stafford Township Fire Company. The homeowners have been temporarily displaced, he said.

The Ocean County Fire Marshall is investigating.

Patrolmen Haines, MacFarlane, and Eiker were the responding Stafford Township officers.
