Ocean Township Cancels 2021 Haunted Hayride

The Ocean Township Committee and Waretown Volunteer Fire Company have canceled their haunted hayride this year due to a lack of volunteers.

WARETOWN, NJ — The Ocean Township Committee and the Waretown Volunteer Fire Company have canceled their haunted hayride this year due to a lack of volunteers.

“The township did not recruit enough volunteers for skits. Due to the preparations that go into the event it will be canceled for 2021,” officials said in announcement.

Officials said the township committee and Waretown Volunteer Fire Company will begin planning for its drive-thru holiday light show in December.

The township is currently seeking financial sponsors for the show.

Anyone who would like to donate or become a sponsor can contact the recreation director Jeanne Broadbent at recreation@twpoceannj.gov or call 609-693-3302, ext. 601.
