New Owner Set To Close On Revived Surflight Theatre On April 27
Locals looking forward to popular Beach Haven theatre's reopening.

BEACH HAVEN, NJ - As soon as all the stakeholders sign on the dotted line, work on reopening the landmark Surflight Theater can begin, according to The Sandpaper.
The official closing on the theater complex is set for April 27. The theater has already held tryouts for some parts this season.
The theater complex - which includes the theater, the Show Place, set shop, costume shop and office space - will be purchased by New York producer Al Parinello.

Local auditions, for both teens and adults, were already held on Sunday at the Starlight Performing Arts Center in Manahawkin. Questions should be directed to info@surflight.org.
“We’ve already auditioned kids for the kids’ chorus in ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ and for parts in other shows such as ‘Newsies,’” Steiner said.

The popular theater closed for two years, the victim of bankruptcy and Superstorm Sandy, much to the disappointment of locals and tourists.
But things have turned around. Cleanup and restoration work will begin as soon as the closing takes place, Steiner said.
The website has already been revived at surflight.org.
Steiner and his associates have already sold $65,000 in tickets in 225 separate orders and have booked 45 groups.
Steiner is hoping that locals can volunteer to help the Surflight make a comeback.
“We’re not only looking for people to do the traditional things like serving at Joe’s Place (the theater’s snack bar) and ushering,” said Steiner. “We’re also looking for people to chip in with the theater’s cleanup.”
