Prosecutor: Little Egg Man Bilked Customers Out Of $247,224

Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office have been unable to locate the contractor.

TOMS RIVER, NJ - Peter J. Rinaldi spent two years taking money from customers for construction projects and never doing the work.

And Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato wants to know if you have seen him.

Rinaldi, 56, of Little Egg Harbor Township, is a contractor wanted for second-degree theft by deception and second-degree theft by failure to make required disposition of property received, spokesman Al Della Fave said.

Detectives from the Prosecutor's Office Economic Crimes Unit have not been able to locate Rinaldi, who was previously indicted on those charges, he said.

Rinaldi is accused of taking checks amounting to $247,224 from 12 victims from July 2014 to August 2016. He operated under the company names of Donovan Mark Custom Builders, LLC and Mark Anthony Custom Builders, LLC.

He deposited the money into his bank account and a check cashing facility and spent the money for his personal benefit and gain. Rinaldi did not provide any materials, supplies or labor, Della Fave said.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have contracted with Rinaldi for work not completed can contact Ocean County Prosecutor Economic Crimes Det. James Conroy at 732-814-1697.
