Stafford Police: Don't Fall For These Scams
Callers may use phrases like "investigation department" or criminal allegations," police say

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ - If they call or text, just hang up.
That's the advice Stafford police are giving residents about forms of phone or online scams that some have reported receiving recently.
The callers may say they are from the Internal Revenue Service or a law enforcement agency and use phrases like "investigation department," or "criminal allegations" and telling residents there's a warrant for their arrest, according to the police department's Facebook page.

"The caller/scammers may provide an email address or callback number," according to the department's Facebook page. THIS IS A SCAM - DO NOT RESPOND."
