Stafford Police Seek Info On 2-Car Crash Near Hilliard Boulevard

Stafford police are seeking information from the public about a two-vehicle crash that sent three people to the hospital on Saturday.

STAFFORD, NJ — Stafford police are seeking information from the public about a two-vehicle crash that sent three people to the hospital on Saturday.

Police responded to the crash at Route 9 and Hilliard Boulevard just before noon. Earl Lewis, 84, of Barnegat was driving a 2018 Buick Enclave on Route 9 south as he entered the intersection of Hilliard Boulevard.

Lewis’ vehicle was struck by a 2017 BMW Convertible driven by Kathleen Cochran, 53, of Manahawkin who was traveling west on Hilliard Boulevard and entered the intersection of Route 9 when the collision happened.

Both drivers and Lewis’ passenger were taken to Southern Ocean Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.

Traffic was detoured in the area for about 30 minutes during the investigation.
