Surf City Police: Use Caution Near Beach Ramps After Storm

The beach buggy ramp at 25th Street is temporarily closed

SURF CITY, NJ - Police are asking residents to be careful around beach ramps, since some have slight drop-offs and others may be choked with sand from the departing storm, according to the Surf City police department's Facebook page.

The dunes also took a beating and the beach buggy entrance ramp has been temporarily shut down at 25th Street, due to a large drop-off, police said.

"Yes, we know a channel marker washed up last night when the sea was churning," the post states. "The owners of said channel marker have been made aware it made landfall and will be retrieving it as soon as possible. Please keep your distance."
