Waretown Historical Society To Hold Creepy Cemetery Walk

Take an evening candlelight stroll through two historic cemeteries.

WARETOWN, NJ - It's never too soon for thinking about Halloween.

If you like to be scared, sign up soon for the Waretown Historical Society's spooky annual Candlelight Ghost Tour coming up on Oct. 20.

The yearly tour includes walks through the Old Presbyterian and Cedar Grove Cemeteries by candlelight. Spaces are limited to 75 participants due to parking and overcrowding issues in the old cemeteries. The popular program fills up fast, said society President Adele R. Shaw.

"Learn about pirates and shipwreck, the famous and the infamous, who lived and died right here," Shaw said.

Tickets for the tour are $10 per person. The tour is the only program the society charges for. Proceeds fund the society's scholarships for two graduating Southern Regional High School seniors.
