Basking Ridge Church Hosting Annual 5K For Kindness

The Church of Saint James will be hosting its fourth annual 5K for Kindness in Basking Ridge next week.

The 5K for Kindness and Fun Walk will take place at the Church of Saint James, 184 S. Finley Ave., beginning at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 7. The course is USA Track and Field certified and sanctioned.

The 5K for Kindness will benefit the St. James Men of Charity, according to the event page. The Men of Charity was founded in 2008 to “engage in charitable service to the community at large.” The Men of Charity have performed service activities including clothing drives, volunteering at local soup kitchens and coordinating home repairs, the event page said.

Registration for the 5K for Kindness ends on Tuesday, May 5. The cost of registration for the 5$ is $25, plus a $2.50 online signup fee, or $10 for the one-mile walk, plus a $2 online signup fee.

Awards will be issued to the top three adults, as well as the top three finishers in the 10-year and under age group.

A free barbecue and live music will directly follow the event.
