Basking Ridge Hosting Networking Event for Women Leaders

Proceeds from will provide various forms of counseling and health services to women and families following domestic abuse or homelessness.

The United Way of Northern New Jersey Women’s Leadership Council is hosting a networking breakfast for women leaders in Basking Ridge later this month.

The event will take place on Thursday, April 23, from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Basking Ridge Country Club, 185 Madisonville Road. The networking event will feature a silent auction and networking opportunities with female professionals in the region “who are committed to improving lives in Somerset County,” according to the United Way of Northern New Jersey.

The keynote speaker at the 13th Annual Spring Breakfast will be author and Superbwoman founder Janet M. Neal. Neal founded and leads The Superbwoman Inc., which works to provide women with resources and opportunities to “find balance and fulfillment in their lives without feeling like they have to do it all,” the release said. Neal, who is a frequent corporate lecturer, will present “Hanging up the Cape: Moving from Superwoman to Superbwoman.”

Proceeds from the networking event will benefit Somerset County women and families either in poverty or the ALICE population, but are working toward financial stability, the United Way said. ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) is a research project from the United Way and nearly one-quarter of Somerset County households fall under this category, according to a 2014 United Way study.
