Bernards Schools To Give 800 Teachers, Staff 9 Percent Raise
The raise, taking the form of three percent per year over three years, applies to nearly 600 teachers.
BERNARDS TOWNSHIP, NJ — Teachers and other staff in Bernards Township are going to get a sizable raise over the next three years, according to a report. The new contract stipulates that educators in the bargaining unit will get a raise of over nine percent.
Next year, they'll get a 3.16 percent increase. In each of the two following two years, they'll see a three percent increase, according to a TAPInto report.
The change applies to about 800 members of the bargaining unit.

The current base pay for a teacher with no experience and a bachelor's degree is $48,426. By the end of the raises in this contract, that number will jump to $54,380, the outlet reported.
