Bernards Township To Host First Responders Appreciation Night

Residents are asked to make donations (gift baskets, gift certificates, or monetary) to show their support and gratitude.

The First Responders Appreciation Night will take place on Thursday, Oct. 23, at the Liberty Corner Firehouse, beginning with a private dinner for the first responders and their families, followed by a public ceremony at 7:30 p.m.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Bernards Township will host a First Responders Appreciation Night and is asking the public to help with donations to honor the hard work of the fire, EMS, and police.

The event will take place on Thursday, Oct. 23, at the Liberty Corner Firehouse, beginning with a private dinner for the first responders and their families, followed by a public ceremony at 7:30 p.m.

"The appreciation night is designated specifically to honor, celebrate, and express our gratitude to all our first responders for their service to our community," according to the Bernards Township First Responders Committee.

First responders include the Basking Ridge Fire Company, Basking Ridge EMS, Liberty Corner Fire Company, and Bernards Township Police Department.

"The first three organizations are 100 percent staffed by volunteers and are responsible for providing fire and rescue service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. These organizations are dedicated to protecting you, your family, and our entire community. The men and women of the Bernards Township Police Department respond to all emergencies 24/7 and are critical to protecting our community," according to the committee.

Residents are being asked to donate to show their gratitude and support for this event:

  • Gift baskets(or items to be assembled)
  • Gift Certificates(consider shopping locally)
  • Monetary

The committee's goal is to give each first responder a special gift.

"We can only accomplish this with community support. No amount is too small. The names of all donors will be noted in the program," said the committee.

Monetary donations should be mailed to Bernards Township, 1 Collyer Lane, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920, and checks made payable to "Bernards Township" and the memo line must read "First Responders Event."

Donations to this event are tax-deductible. All funds received above the cost of the event will be donated to each of the first responders' departments in equal shares.
