The GivingGirls Network was co-founded by Jean D’Ambrosio and Elaine DaCosta. Team assistant for the event was Colleen Pine, who said she drew in many teens, including friends of Lauren Heaslip's.

Tickets were $12.

DaCosta said the GivingGirls Network's next event is a Cinco De Mayo celebration, for adults, scheduled for 7 to 11 p.m. on May 4 at the Bridgewater Manor off Route 206 in Bridgewater.

She and D'Ambrosio said proceeds from that event would go toward Fill a Need, an initiative to build a village area of businesses within Somerset County that would provide employment opportunities for those with autism who are over age 21, and no longer eligible for educational funding.
