Learn to Identify Trees With Bernards Twp. Expert
Jack Donohue, local environment consultant, will teach some tricks for reading unique characteristics of trees.
Area residents are invited to a free presentation at the Bernards Township Library this Saturday with environmental consultant and Liberty Corner resident Jack Donohue, who will teach a few tricks for identifying some common trees in northern New Jersey.
"Identifying Trees" is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday as a way to welcome the arrival of spring's greenery.
This class will highlight the unique characteristics of leaves, branches, and bark of each tree through both photos and live samples, according to the library, which is located at 32 S. Maple Ave.

Donohue is a 22-year resident of Basking Ridge with a M.S. in biological sciences specializing in wetland delinations and environmental resource inventories from Rutgers University.

He is a former member of several Bernards Township committees, including The Green Team, Greenways, Great Swamp Watershed Management. He also is former Chairman of the Bernards Township Environmental Commission.
Donohue currently leads local Environmental Education walks, focusing on a topics such as the identification of trees, wildflowers, ferns, shrubs, and invasive species.
