Nationally Recognized Comedians to Perform at Liberty Corner Fire Company Comedy Night

If you’re looking to laugh, the Liberty Corner Fire Company is hosting its biannual comedy night next month featuring three nationally recognized comedians.

The comedy night will take place on Saturday, May 2, in the ballroom of the firehouse, at 95 Church St., and will feature comics Kevin Downey, Jr., Mike Gaffney and Tom McTiernan. The three comics have appeared in comedy clubs across the county and on television shows including NBC’s “Last Comic Standing”, “America’s Got Talent”, “Friday Night” and Comedy Central’s “Stand Up, Stand Up.”

Downey, Jr. has appeared in comedy clubs including The Comedy Stop at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Additionally, he has appeared on several television programs and authors his own column in Bachelor Pad Magazine and GQ Magazine titled “Drinking on $11 a Night,” according to release from the Liberty Corner Fire Company. He is currently a contestant on “America’s Got Talent.”

Gaffney has appeared on a number of television programs, including “Last Comic Standing” and “The Artie Lange Show.” He was also on the first season of “Gotham Comedy Live, The Best of Gotham Comedy Live,” and sitcom “30 Rock,” the release said.

McTiernan has performed in comedy clubs in New York and Los Angeles, including Comic Strip Live, The Gotham Comedy Club and The World Famous Improv. Additionally, he has appeared on Comedy Central’s “Stand Up, Stand Up” and NBC’s “Friday Night.”

Doors open for the Liberty Corner Fire Company comedy night at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. The event will also feature a wine and beer bar, also open at 7 p.m.

Attendees must be 21-years-old and over. Tickets are $40 per person and can be purchased in advance through the Libert Corner Fire Company. Tickets will also be available at the door.
