Municipal Alliance Hosting Substance Abuse Prevention Presentation

The Bernards Township Municipal Alliance is partnering with local parent teach organizations to host a substance abuse prevention presentation next month.
The Municipal Alliance is partnering with the Ridge High School and William Annin Middle School Parent Teacher Organizations to host the Partnership for a Drug Free New Jersey’s 15 Minute Child Break program on Thursday, May 21. The presentation will take place at the Warren Craft Meeting Room at Bernards Town Hall, 1 Collyer Lane in Basking Ridge, at 7 p.m.
“The 15 Minute Child Break is a one hour long multi-media presentation offered by the PDFNJ”, Angelo Valente, Executive Director of the PDFNJ, said. “This presentation is an opportunity for parents and caregivers to come out and find out the role they play and the power they have in preventing their children from abusing drugs and alcohol.”

The program is a one-hour long multi-media presentation, which includes information on the importance of the parent or guardian’s role in preventing substance abuse. Additionally, information about how to talk to children about drugs, signs of drug use and abuse, current terminology and trends of use.
