New Bernards Township Police Hire Authorized
New officer will replace retiring sergeant.

The hiring of a new Bernards Township police officer was authorized by the Bernards Township Committee on Monday night to take the place of a retiring officer, Sgt. Joshua Fowler, as the 38th officer on the township police force.
The new officer, a recent police academy graduate, is Anthony Englund. Township Administrator Bruce McArthur said Englund is of "high caliber," and will be sworn onto the force in mid-July.
Englund will replace Fowler, who has been with the department for more than 25 years, McArthur said.
