Report: Ridge High School 20th Best in New Jersey

U.S. News & World Report recently released its list of the best schools in the country and in each state.

Ridge High School in Basking Ridge cracked the top 20 best high schools in the state of New Jersey, according to an annual report from U.S. News & World Report.

Ridge High School came in at No. 20 on the list of best high schools in the state.

According to the report, 100 percent of students are proficient in language and 97 percent are proficient in mathematics. Ridge High School’s college readiness index, which is a weight average based 25 percent on Advanced Placement or IB participation rate and 75 percent on the quality-adjusted AP or IP participation rate, is 57.3 out of 100, the report said. Ridge has a 59 percent AP participation rate.

Ridge High School was ranked 379th out of all high schools in the United States. The high school, located at 268 S. Finley Ave., has 1,811 students and is the only high school in the Bernards Township Public School district.

U.S. News & World Report reviewed more than 21,000 public high schools nationwide. Schools were judged “based on their performance on state assessments and how well they prepare students for college,’’ according to the website.
