Ridge Soccer 2012 Captains to Compete in National Championship
Recent Ridge grads to compete in national association's championship for club soccer teams.

Recently graduated Ridge High School soccer captains Wade Hoffman and Kieran McCarthy of Basking Ridge are set to travel to Overland Park, Kansas on Sunday, July 21 to compete for the US Youth Soccer Association's Under 18 National Championship.
The graduates play for the PDA (Player Development Academy) Harkes team, which won the NJ State Cup to earn a spot in the Region 1 Championships at the University of Rhode Island from June 28 through July 2.
In Rhode Island, the team finished ahead of 15 other State Cup and Regional Premier League champions, to move onto representing Region 1 at the upcoming National Championships, according to information from the team.
Hoffman is a defender/midfielder who will be continuing his career this fall at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. McCarthy, a goalkeeper, will be playing at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.

McCarthy and Hoffman of Basking Ridge were with the team when presented with the Region 1 United States Youth Soccer Championship trophy earned by their PDA U-18 team on July 2.
