Somerset Hills YMCA Offers Free Tutoring

Sessions provided Wednesdays and Thursdays for grades 3-12.

The Somerset Hills YMCA will resume this month its Students-Helping-Students-Tutoring program staffed by students from Bernards High School and from Ridge High School who volunteer to provide academic tutoring to other students in grades 3 to 12.

The free program will be offered most Wednesdays and Thursdays through next spring from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The first sessions are scheduled for next week on Oct. 13 and 14. 

Additional scheduled sessions for the rest of the year are on Oct. 20-21, 27-28, Nov. 10-11, 17-18 and on Dec. 1-2 and 9. Sessions are not scheduled during holidays or vacations. A list of other scheduled sessions, along with further information, is available on the website for the Somerset Hills YMCA, 140 Mt. Airy Road.

The students, mostly from Bernards High School, are described as excelling in academics, said Andrea Williams, a spokeswoman for the YMCA.
