Summer Activities Return in Basking Ridge into Weekend

Older residents have a few special percs coming up in next few days.

While the first day of August may have brought out more umbrellas and rain parkas than bathing suits or shorts, summer's fine weather is due to return on Friday, and also, a chance to enjoy many of the season's special activities.

Since Thursday's production was called off due to rain, Friday night was to be the first scheduled performance of Trilogy Repertory Co. and Troupe of Friend's production of "King Lear."

The free play, with donations accepted, is due to be staged at the outdoor amphitheater at Pleasant Valley Park off Valley Road on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Shows are scheduled for 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Grandparents Day for Pleasant Valley Pool members on Saturday

Meanwhile, looking ahead into the weekend, all day on Saturday is free admission for the grandparents of members of Pleasant Valley Pool at "Grandparents Day."

For those who bring a photo, there will be a chance to make a picture frame with your grandkids from 1 to 3 p.m. at the pool on Saturday, as supplies last. Grandparents must be accompanied by a pool member.
