Government and School Board Meetings in the Week Ahead
A look at upcoming events and news in Belleville and Nutley.

The Belleville Board of Education holds a Special Public Business Meeting on Monday in the auditorium at Belleville High School at 7 p.m. The Board will approve the 2013-2014 School District Budget for submission to the Essex County Executive Superintendent of Schools.
The Nutley Board of Ed also meets on Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the Middle School music room.
The Nutley Board of Health hosts a walk-in blood pressure screening at the public affairs building on Monday night from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. No appointments necessary.

The Belleville Municipal Council meets at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. According to the agenda, online here, the council will again discuss imposing a Municipal Lien at the former site of the the Dutch Reformed Church. The church’s steeple was braced at tax payer expense after Hurricane Sandy to keep it from toppling from storm damage.
Nutley’s Planning Board meets on Wednesday. They will again take up the proposed East Centre Street apartment complex and will likely have a decision on the project. The board has heard arguments over the multi-unit housing development at multiple meetings over several months.

Nutley children in grades two through six are invited to take part in the annual flashlight egg hunt on Thursday. The Reinheimer Park event starts at dusk. Children will hunt for over 1,500 eggs filled with prizes and candy, including an egg with a Grand Prize gold token that nets the winner a huge chocolate prize basket.
Municipal offices in Belleville and Nutley will be closed for Good Friday.
