16-Year-Old Boy Riding His Bike Struck By Car In Beachwood

Boy is in stable condition at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, police say.

Beachwood police are looking for witnesses to an accident Wednesday when a 16-year-old boy was struck while riding his bike at the intersection of Route 9 and Beachwood Boulevard according to the police department's Facebook page.

The boy was treated and taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center by the Beachwood Volunteer First Aid Squad. The boy is currently in stable condition, the post states.

The crash is being investigated by Patrolman Dennis Allen of the Traffic Safety Division. A section of Route 9 was blocked briefly, but the roadway is now open.wing normally.

The vehicle, 2006 Toyota, was driven by a 59-year-old Beachwood man who remained on the scene and was cooperating with the investigation. Anyone with information about this crash is asked to contact Patrolman Allen at 732-286-6000 ext. 179.
