Video Shows Wild Crowds, Fights In Seaside Heights Area
Police in both towns taken by surprise by the amount of people, but few arrests made. Watch the video below of the mayhem.

As many as 5,000 to 10,000 people reported filled the Seaside Heights and Seaside Park beaches and boardwalks over the weekend after seeing a phony ad on Instagram about a party that apparently didn't happen.
What followed were wild fights, a broken fence and people holding their cameras up to catch the mayhem on Saturday night. Random punches and fighters happened on the beach as large crowds looked on (watch the video below).
Seaside Park police spokesman Patrolman Andrew Casole said police first became aware there was a problem around 2:30 p.m., when the crowds began to swell. "By 4 p.m., we realized it was going to be a growing problem," he said.

"We didn't learn about it (the ad) until it was unfolding," he said.
Casole said the crowds began in Seaside Heights and migrated to Seaside Park when they became too large.

The Instagram post promised a party on a vague Seaside Heights beach from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. The admission price was $10.
Police responded to fights in Seaside Park, although Casole said chances are many went unreported. Seaside Park made only one arrest, he said.
The party post promised a good time at the beach for a $10 fee, even though beach passes run about $7. Cars were packed to capacity and arrived from all over, and local officials were overwhelmed, according to ABC7. They told that staton that anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 people were in the vicinity, on the boardwalk and beach.
