Barnegat, Stafford Election Results: GOP Sweeps Council
Republican candidates have won new terms on Barnegat and Stafford Township Councils, according to unofficial election results.

STAFFORD, NJ — Republicans held on to their seats in Barnegat and Stafford Townships, according to unofficial election results from the Ocean County Clerk's Office.
With all districts reporting, the unofficial vote tallies show Stafford Mayor Gregory Myhre with 7,518 votes and Democratic challenger Joanne Sitek with 2,839 votes as of Wednesday at midnight.

Myhre's Republican running mates also secured the six open seats on the Stafford Township Council. Current council members George Williams and Michael Pfancook, who did not appear on the ballot this election, will be replaced by Republicans Lisa Mower and Amy Otte in January.
In Barnegat, two committee seats were up for grabs this election. Unofficial vote tallies from the Ocean County Board of Elections show Republican incumbent Pasquale 'Pat' Pipi with 5,620 votes and William Farmer with 5,492 votes. Democratic challengers Charles Cunliffee and Martin Weber received a total of 3,084 and 3,107 votes respectively.

In Stafford's school board race, four candidates filed to run for the four open seats, while in the Southern Regional school board race, three incumbents ran to keep their seats.
Over in Barnegat, a crowded field of 10 candidates were vying for three seats in the board of education race. The three-person team of “One Barnegat Together," represented by Bruno Iamonte, Bonnie Levy and Regina Tarnowski, swept Tuesday’s election.
The results do not become official until the Ocean County Clerk certifies the election, usually later in November.
