Bayville Youth Leader Sentenced On Child Porn Charges: Cops
Anthony Mauro, 45, was sentenced to 180 days in the Ocean County Jail and parole supervision for life on charges of child pornography.

BEACHWOOD, NJ - A Bayville youth leader was sentenced on charges of child pornography on October, 16, according to a release from the Ocean County Prosecutor's office. Anthony J. Mauro, 45, plead guilty to two charges of possession of child pornography and was sentenced to 180 days in the Ocean County Jail and parole supervision for the rest of his life.
Mauro's arrest came in August, after the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office ran an investigation that showed someone in Ocean County downloading and sharing of images and videos of prepubescent children engaged in sexual acts. When Mauro's house at 537 Compass Avenue in Beachwood was searched, they found 100 movies and images of child pornography in computers in the house.
Mauro was believed to be a youth leader with the St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Bayville, but no connection between his criminal charges and his position with the church are known, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.
