Berkeley Announces 2018 'Sounds Of Summer' Lineup

The entire summer concert series is paid with community and business donations, mayor says

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP- The 2018 "Sounds of Summer" lineup will kick off at 6 p.m. on June 27 at Veterans Park in Bayville with Jukebox Legends and Beginnings, a Chicago tribute band.

“Their horn section and vocals will make you feel like you’re at an authentic Chicago concert. We will also have a fabulous fireworks display after the show," Mayor Carmen F. Amato Jr. said.

The cost of the entire summer concert series is funded by community and business donations.

Other shows slated for the series include:

July 11 - 6 p.m. Stiletto & the Saxman, who sing tributes to the greatest husband and wife duos, followed by Billy Gilman who was a finalist on “The Voice.”

July 25 - 6 p.m. Sounds of the Street, who will play golden oldies, followed by Garden State Radio, a pop and rock band playing hits from the 80’s and 90’s up to today.

August 1 - 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. - Annual Beach Party at White Sands Beach in South Seaside Park at 23rd Avenue. Alotta Colada, a jamming island party band with great music, props and a lot of energy, will provide the music.

August 8 - 5 p.m. Seventh Annual “Night Out Against Crime.”

“The Berkeley Township Police Department will be on hand along with our Township First Aid Squads, Township Fire Departments and other public safety agencies to greet residents and show the different types of equipment that they utilize," the mayor said. "All of these public safety agencies will have their vehicles and equipment on display, as well. Our DARE Program will also be there with games and prizes for the children to enjoy.”

Tusk, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band, will perform at 7:30 p.m.

August 22 - 6 p.m. Longtime Jersey Shore vocal group Rock N' Rhythm will sing traditional doo-wop and contemporary styles, followed by country music group Radio Nashville.

August 29 - 6 p.m. Gerard Esposito, one of New Jersey's most requested entertainers will sing songs from Vegas to Broadway. He will be followed by The Infernos, who will sing a mix four decades of music, from Barry White, Earth Wind & Fire and Sinatra, to today’s hot sounds of Bruno Mars, Robin Thicke and Taylor Swift.

Sept. 8 - 10 a.m. Berkeley Township Community Pride Day. The event features rides and inflatables for the kids, vendors, local non-profits and community groups. The music begins at 5:30 pm. with the Symphonics, who perform a variety of music from the 1940’s thru today, followed by Eaglemania, an Eagles tribute band. The night will be capped off with a fireworks display.

“As you can see we have a great mix of talented groups in our summer line up," the mayor said. "There’s something for everyone! Please come on out for a great summer of entertainment and don't forget to bring a chair!”

Refreshments for all the events are provided by non profit and organizations that use the concerts as their fundraisers.
