Berkeley Cops Charge Bayville Man With Drunk Driving After Crash

Charles J. Cole, 35, was arrested on Bay Boulevard, police chief says

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ- Berkeley Township police recently arrested a Bayville man for drunk driving after he was involved in a two-car crash on March 5, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

Patrolman Edward Hendrickson and Patrolman Michael Zilavetz responded to Bay Boulevard near the intersection of Hawk Avenue. They administered standardized field sobriety tests to Charles J. Cole, 35, Hollywood Boulevard, then arrested him for driving while intoxicated, the chief said.

He was processed at police headquarters and also issued summonses for refusal to submit to breath samples, failure to maintain lane and reckless driving, DiMichele said.

His vehicle was impounded as per John’s Law, the chief said.
