A Calm, Chilly Day On Tap For Ocean County Beaches

Low risk of rip currents, but cold ocean water temperatures are forecast

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ - The National Weather Service is calling for a calm day on Ocean County beaches with a low risk of rip current, but cold ocean temperatures.

Just remember that rip currents are always possible, especially near jetties and other structures. Never swim on an unguarded beach and never swim alone or at night. Beaches that are guarded are in short supply this early in the season, except on weekends.

Waves will be around 3 feet, with southeast swells of 2 feet. The ocean water temperature is an uncomfortable 60 degrees.

Low tide at Barnegat Inlet arrived at 8:10 a.m. High tide will roll in at 2:14 p.m, followed by another low tide at 8:25 p.m.
