Central Regional's Friday Closure Due To Simple Power Outage

Students in both the high school and middle school were dismissed early

BAYVILLE, NJ Whether Central Regional High School and Middle School students will have to make up the partial day they missed on Friday remains to be seen.

Superintendent Triantafillos Parlapanides said on his Facebook page said the upcoming graduation dates will not change, even if the day has to be made up.

Students were dismissed late Friday morning because of a power outage, he said.

"That was it," he said. "I have reached out to see if we can count the day. I have a few ideas and will discuss with the Board and once approved will notify everyone."

Schools must have 240 minutes of instruction on any given day to count for a full day, Parlapanides said.

"We are close, but I think we need to make the day up," he said. "I will be working with the county superintendent to see what our options are."
