Coastal Ocean Beach Report: Watch For Rips, Water Temps Still Chilly
Ocean water will be choppy, with wave heights up to five feet.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies at the beach today with a high around 80.
But be careful.
There's a moderate risk of rip currents, which means you should check with your local beach patrols before heading in the water. Always swim within sight of a lifeguard and never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggests you always have a flotation device with you in the water.

The ocean water temperature is still a chilly 62 degrees. The surf will be rough, with waves around five feet and southerly swells of four feet. Winds will be from the southwest at 15 to 20 miles per hour.
The ultraviolet index is a 10, which the NWS considers high. Don't forget the sunscreen. There is no lightning threat today.

Low tide at Barnegat Inlet will roll in at 7:59 p.m. High tide will arrive at 2:01 p.m., followed by another low tide at 8:18 p.m.
