Coastal Ocean County Beach Weather Report For June 17, 2017
High risk of rip currents today - a good day to stay out of the water, National Weather Service says.

It's not a good day to go swimming in the ocean.
There's a high risk of rip currents today through tonight, which means dangerous and potentially life-threatening conditions exist for anyone who goes in the water, the National Weather Service says.
"People visiting the beaches should stay out of the high surf," the NWS warned beach forecast for today.

If you do go in the water despite the warnings, do not swim on an unguarded beach. There have been a number water rescues and deaths over the past week on the Jersey coast, primarily because people swam after hours. Never swim at night and never swim alone.
Waves will be around four feet, with southeast swells of three to four feet. The water temperature is slowly warming up to 67 degrees.

Skies will be cloudy today, with areas of fog and a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will in the mid-70s. Winds will be from the southeast at five to 10 miles per hour.
The ultraviolet index is a 9, which the National Weather Service considers very high. The lightning threat is moderate.
Low tide at Barnegat Inlet rolled in at 8:12 a.m. High tide will arrive at 2:16 p.m., followed by another low tide at 8:42 p.m.
