County Clerk To Hold Deed Workshop For Residents On April 14
Learn how to research your property's history at free event

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Have you ever wondered about your home's history or need a copy of your deed?
Then come to "Searching the Deed Room," a workshop Ocean County Clerk Scott M. Colabella will host on April 14. The free event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the deed room at the Ocean County Courthouse at 118 Washington Street.
Colabella and his staff will provide personalized guidance on how to search and access deeds and mortgages, according to a county release.

"Residents are unaware of how much information they have access to, and even how to look up property records," Colabella said."This event will give them an opportunity to learn firsthand about how easy it is to access this kind of information and just how much they have at their convenience."
Participants will also learn how to register for the Property Alert Service, which notifies them whenever documents related to their property are recorded with the County Clerk's Office.

"This workshop provides residents with the chance to get a better understanding of the workings of the County Clerk's Office and in particular getting information as it relates to their property," Ocean County Freeholder Director Gerry P. Little said.
