The shredding unit features an automatic feeding and dumping system, which eliminates human contact with documents and formers. The service representatives are unformed, bonded and insured.

The program is for all paper documents and paper forms. You do not have to remove paper clips and stables. Each vehicle is limited to six boxes or bags of documents. Commercial and business documents are not accepted, nor are X-rays, CDs, floppy disks, microfilm or file folders.

"I encourage all residents to use this service to recycle important documents, especially because scams and identify thefts are now at an all time high," Amato said.

The free service is provided by the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders. Due to large response from residents in the past, we have requested an additional truck. If you have any questions call the Ocean County Department of Solid Waste Management at 732-506-5047.
