Departing Storm Leaves Major Flooding in Pelican Island

The latest high tide left its mark, Sunset Drive South resident says. Check out her pictures.

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Pelican Island resident Sue Kozakowski has lived through her share of flooding in this low-lying section of the township. She and her family went through Superstorm Sandy.

But in the years since the monster storm, it seems as if flooding has become a way of life. And the latest barrage of wind and rain didn't help, the Sunset Drive South resident said.

"Sun’s out, rain stopped, but the wind won’t quit," she posted on her Facebook page today. "Can’t remember this much water before Sandy. This side of the island is barricaded off."
