Fundraiser Launched For Bayville Couple Shot By Neighbor
Tom and Jill Kwatkoski, recovering from a shooting, are "always the first to help" in any situation, a family friend said in a fundraiser.

BERKELEY, NJ — The Berkeley Shores couple currently hospitalized after being shot by their neighbor is "always the first to help others," according to a GoFundMe launched by a family friend.
Tom and Jill Kwatkoski are both in stable condition after they were shot by John Adamo earlier this week, who then took his own life, authorities said.
"While the physical wounds will eventually heal, the emotional and financial toll on their family is significant, and their journey toward recovery is just beginning," friend Jill Stuart wrote in the GoFundMe, which has reached just over $13,000 as of Thursday with a $40,000 goal.

The Kwatkoski family has four sons, the youngest of which received community support a decade ago when he was fighting childhood cancer.
"The road to recovery will be long, requiring extensive medical treatment, therapy, and support, all while they continue to care for their four sons," Stuart said.

All of the money raised by the GoFundMe will go towards the Kwatkoski family's medical bills, daily expenses and ensuring their sons are taken care of during this time, Stuart said. It will also help with any other unforeseen costs.
