Island Beach State Park Announces September Lifeguard Schedule
Lifeguards will remain on duty at Island Beach State Park on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through September.

ISLAND BEACH STATE PARK, NJ — Lifeguards will remain on duty at Island Beach State Park on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through September.
The last day for swimming in the 2021 season is Sunday, Sept. 26.
Park officials remind visitors that swimming is only permitted when lifeguards are on duty from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Swimming Area 1.

This Sunday, the annual Beach Plum Festival returns to Island Beach State Park from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The festival features craft vendors, food trucks, local nonprofits, kid's games and activities. Entry to the park is free, but donations to the nonprofit Friends of Island Beach State Park are requested.

The Nature Center is also hosting events the day of the festival at its Interpretive Center, which is next to the Nature Center and about three miles south of the Beach 1 pavilion.

10-10:45: Seining
11 -11:45: Native Plant Walk
12 -12:45: Clamming
1 -1:45: Island History Walk
2 -2:45: Seining
