Island Beach State Parks Seeks Volunteers For Dune Grass Planting
Planting beach grass in Island Beach State Park plays an important role in stabilizing dunes during storms, according to park officials.

ISLAND BEACH STATE PARK, NJ — A beach grass planting is happening in Island Beach State Park in December and many helping hands are needed.
The park is seeking about 200 volunteers to help plant beach grass in the dunes on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 10 a.m.
Volunteers must register in advance and will be assigned a certain part of the beach on grass planting day. Volunteers are also asked to bring a pole or shovel.
