Less Than 5 Percent Of Berkeley Residents Have Graduate Degrees
The findings are based on U.S. Census figures, according to Patch rankings

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Berkeley Township and several other Ocean County towns scored low on the list of New Jersey municipalities with residents who hold graduate degrees, according to a Patch analysis.
The rankings were determined by U.S. Census statistics based on populations that are 25 years and older.
Only 4.8 percent of Berkeley residents in those populations hold graduate degrees. Princeton was number one on the list with more than half. Pleasantville was at the bottom of the list with 2 percent.

Communities lacking in technology and colleges were also low on the lists.
In Seaside Heights, less than 1 percent of residents or - 0.7 percent hold graduate degrees. That compares to South Toms River, with 2 percent; Beachwood, 5.6 percent and Ocean Gate with 6.5 percent. Pine Beach scored much higher, with 17.6.

Farther south in Ocean County, Lacey had 10.4 percent, Little Egg Harbor had 7.2 percent and Tuckerton had 3.7 percent.
The numbers were much higher for Long Beach Island residents. Harvey Cedars topped the list at 26.8 percent, followed closely by Barnegat Light at 24.6 percent. Ship Bottom and Surf City were almost tied at 19.6 and 19.5 percent respectively. Beach Haven had 17.3 percent.
