Mildred A. Tompkins, Wife Of The Late Seaside Heights Mayor, Dies At 87

Mildred A. Tompkins (nee Kuhn) of Seaside Heights passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. She was 87.

Born in South River, NJ, she lived in New Brunswick before moving to Seaside Heights over 50 years ago.

Mildred, along with her late husband George were co-owners in Tompkins Bar in Seaside Heights with Ralph and Monica Tompkins for 40 years.

She was a member of Deborah and the Women of the Moose, Ortley Beach Chapter 1248.

Mildred was predeceased by her husband, George Tompkins, in 2014.

She is survived by her two children, Richard Tompkins and his wife Carmela of Seaside Heights, Lynn England and her husband Kyle of Toms River, and three grandchildren, Cara Tompkins, Kalli England and Kacey England.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m - at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 809 Central Ave., Seaside Park, NJ.
