Nasty Weather On The Way, Coastal Flood Watch Issued
The watch begins at 6 p.m. on Sunday and ends on Monday afternoon

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ - Remember Saturday? Hope you didn't think those balmy temperatures and sunny skies would last.
Weather conditions are a little different today, to say the least. Temperatures dropped by more than 30 degrees and are now hovering in the low 40s. Winds have whipped up to 21 miles per hour, with gusts up to 31 miles per hour. Heavy rain and possible thunderstorms are expected tonight and into Monday.
The good news is there's no snow in the forecast.

The National Weather Servicehas also issued a coastal flood advisory, with moderate flooding possible with the high tides tonight and Monday morning.
Roadways may flood for several hours around the times of high tide, between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. tonight and 8 a.m. on Monday morning . High tide on the back bays usually occurs later than on the oceanfront.

The storm surge will be around three feet above the astronomical high tide tonight. Ocean waves off the coast are forecast to be from 7 feet to 12 feet, the NWS says.
"A coastal flood watch means that conditions favorable for flooding are expected to develop. Coastal residents should be alert for later statements or warnings...and take action to protect property," the NWS says.
