No Identification Yet On Burned Body Found In Car In Plumsted Woods
The person was discovered when firefighters responded to a brush fire on May 2

Authorities still have no idea who or why the deceased person found in a burned-out car was doing in the woods in the area of Route 539 and the Colliers Mills Wildlife Management Area on May 2.
Firefighters from the Joint Base Fire Department responded to a brush fire that afternoon. But it was much more than that.
They found a vehicle about a mile into the woods on the side of Hawkin Road, with significant fire and headt damage. When they looked closer, they found a deceased person in the driver's seat of the vehicle, Capt. Jack Sramaty, a spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office has said.

The Prosecutor's Office is waiting for dental records to identify the person, spokesman Al Della Fave said.
Sramaty said on May 2 that there didn't appear to be any foul play, but stressed that autopsy results were still pending.
