Ocean County Sheriff: Don't Drive Unless You Have To
Multiple accidents on Garden State Parkway and local roadways

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ - If' you're thinking about taking your car out for a spin - don't.
That's the message from the Ocean County Sheriff's 911 Facebook page, after a hellacious day of snow, sleet, ice, lighting strikes, flooding and fires from today's Nor'easter.
"Again, please stay off the roadways and remain in places of shelter," the post states. "Icy roads and lightning strikes have resulted in fire and first aid responses!"

Ocean County residents should expect power outages from the storm, which blew into Ocean County this morning and packed a bigger punch than originally expected.
"Strong winds and heavy snow will impact Ocean County later today," the post states.

There have been multiple car accidents on the Garden State Parkway and local roadways.
"The Parkway is hard hit," according to the post. "Do not go onto the roads unless absolutely necessary. Use EXTREME caution."
In other storm-related mayhem, a Manchester Township teacher was struck by lightningthis afternoon. A Ship Bottom house was engulfed in flames after it was hit by lightning.
Stay home.
