BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ – An Ocean Gate woman who apparently lost her way driving through the woods and ended up in a residential backyard recently was charged with drunk driving, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

Detective Joseph Santoro and Officers DJ Williams and Tyler Shan responded to a Livingston Avenue address on April 11 on a report of a suspicious vehicle driving through the backyard of a property. They found a black 2017 Hyundai Elantra occupied by a woman in the backyard, the chief said.

Police reported that the female driver appeared to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and had gotten lost while driving on a trail in the woods, then drove into the backyard of the home.
