Overdose Victim Flees, But Eventually Apprehended By Berkeley Police
Man was taken to Community Medical Center for treatment.

When Berkeley Patrolman Shawn Bowens, Patrolman Thomas Eichen and Patrolman Patrick Coletti responded to an apartment on Frederick Drive on a report of a drug overdose, the drug user had already fled on foot, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.
When they arrived at 3:48 p.m. on June 2, the caller told police the man had a seizure after using heroin. She was able to rouse him after she called police, but he took off on foot after he found out police had been called, the chief said.
Police found the man in the vicinity of Frederick Drive. He was unconscious but was able to be roused, so Narcan did not have to be used, DiMichele said.
