Parlapanides Receives Honorary Degree From Georgian Court
Longtime superintendent already has several degrees

LAKEWOOD, NJ - Central Regional Superintendent Triantafillos Parlapanides recently received an honorary doctoral degree from Georgian Court University at the school's 107th graduation ceremony.
Parlapanides was awarded an honorary Doctor of Educational Administration degree on May 24, according to a district press release.
Georgian Court President Dr. Joseph R. Marbach lauded Parlapanides earlier this year when he informed him of his nomination.

"As an alumnus of Georgian Court, you exemplify the Mercy core values of compassion, service, respect, integrity and justice," Marbach said. "Your accomplishments at Central Regional High School have helped thousands of students transform their lives through education. Your commitment to a strong and lasting partnership with Georgian Court University has served as a model for university partnerships, which are helping the university achieve even greater success."
Parlapanides has a doctorate from Seton Hall University, a master's degree in administration and leadership from Georgian Court and a bachelor of science degree from Villanova University.

He taught at Central Regional Middle School before taking a job at Egg Harbor Township Middle School. He then served as principal at Shore Regional High school. He returned to Central Regional Middle School as principal before he became Central Regl Superintendent in 2008.
Parlapanides has been instrumental in the creation of the Humanities Academy, the Digital Media Academy, The Eagle Leadership Academy and the Army ROTC program, and the first high school in the state to sign up for the state's Public School Choice Program, which allows students from other districts to attend Central with tuition paid for by the state.
